PICAA is turning 10! That’s 10 years of creative community engagement and creative skills development for our people all while promoting and continuing Pasefika creative arts in Australia. To celebrate our birthday we’ve partnered up with Bowery Theatre, Creative Brimbank to produce a 2-show event in celebration of our PICAA family of creatives and volunteers. We posted a call-out to community for production cast/crew and we’re now locked in to rehearsals.

MUA FESTIVAL promises a showcase of PICAA’s creative leaders: Dr. Rita Seumanutafa-Palala (music), Lelili’o Steve Tafea (music performance), Fulisia Asalemo Tofete (theatre) and Malagamaalii Gina Tafea (cultural arts). The show will reprise material from our much-loved productions ‘Amataga o le Alofa’ (D.E Tuitea) and ReHavaiki (A.Tofete/R.Seumanutafa-Palala) and our popular Tuiga Program (G.Tafea).
Directed by Fulisia Asalemo Tofete, MUA FESTIVAL also presents new works including TŪ MAU (see below).

TŪ MAU is a new Pacific theatre work about family, dignity, and quiet courage. Set in Apia on the eve of Black Saturday (1929), TŪ MAU reminds us that history begins in small, human moments.
Intimate. Honest. Human.
MUA FESTIVAL Show dates are Fri 13th & Sat 14th February 2026. You can purchase your tickets here with earlybird tickets prices at $10 if you purchase by 31st Jan! So be sure to get your tickets asap!
We are now busy with rehearsals and can’t wait to share our festival of works with everyone but if you want to see what we’re working on, follow us on our socials (instagram, facebook and tiktok) as we will be posting rehearsal footage there.
Happy birthday to us!
Team PICAA.
