TUIGA PROGRAM (CULTURAL ARTS)

TUIGA CLASS is an 8-week course that teaches students how to design and create the Samoan tuiga (headdress).  The course is facilitated by local tuiga-maker and PICAA cultural costumes designer, Gina Tafea, who works alongside each student as they create their own tuiga.  The aim of this program is to share cultural knowledge,  teaching community members the art of tuiga-design and construction for their own family and cultural use.  Please contact us for the next program roll-out, or subscribe to our blog updates so you don’t miss out on notices for registration.

For cultural reasons, we only accept registration into this programme from members of the Samoan/Pacific community.  Faafetai.
